On the basis of the comparison between AP 3.10 and Euripides’ peculiar version of the myth of Hypsipyle, the A. re-examines the last two verses of the epigram and submits a new proposal for restitution of the puzzling and much-disputed v. 5: instead of the inadmissible and incongruous manuscript reading Ἀσώτιδος νέαν κούραν, the A. puts forward Ἀσιάτιδος, Εὔνοε, μοῦσαν, which, unlike the various conjectures offered by other commentators on this passage, fits with the distintive characteristics of the musician Euneus.

Abstract
On the basis of the comparison between AP 3.10 and Euripides’ peculiar version of the myth of Hypsipyle, the A. re-examines the last two verses of the epigram and submits a new proposal for restitution of the puzzling and much-disputed v. 5: instead of the inadmissible and incongruous manuscript reading Ἀσώτιδος νέαν κούραν, the A. puts forward Ἀσιάτιδος, Εὔνοε, μοῦσαν, which, unlike the various conjectures offered by other commentators on this passage, fits with the distintive characteristics of the musician Euneus.File in questo prodotto:
