With respect to the globality ofsemiosis, the authors main focusin this essay is on interlingual translation, the relation among verbal textstranslated, interpreted, transferred, transvaluated, transaccentuated, transintonated, transposed and readapted into the sign systems of other verbal languages. In the processes of interlingual translation, a central concern is the nature of the relation between the original text and the translated text and the reverse. Moreover, given that they are dealing with questions concerning the exchange among values and not simply meanings, the authors’ perspective is more appropriately described as pertaining to semioethics.
