Photo-photo : "dans" l’écriture de Marie Nimier. Au-delà du roman

From a photo session commissioned by «Paris Match» to Karl Lagerfeld in 2008 to celebrate the writers of the autumn, including Marie Nimier, Photo-Photo tells the story of an unexpected novel being written under the eyes of the reader. The self-portrait in movement, between past and present, of a woman "reinvented" by Lagerfeld, posing in front of her lens, is an excuse to stage the history of the writing of this novel. How does fiction invest and disguise reality in a text in which they combine, drawing as much from the intimacy of an individual as from the act of literary creation itself? Is it not a matter of vision concerning less the representation of the self than the process of writing whose challenge is to plunge into the heart of the gesture of creation, to give to see this «toile impressionnante, qui aurait pu être considérée comme l’œuvre même, au-delà du roman» (PH, p. 191) ?
