LAVORO E GENERAL INTELLECT ALLA PROVA DELLA CRISI ECOLOGICA

In this paper I discuss the hypothesis of Emanuele Leonardi to assume the theoretical reflections of the Italian workerism among the main premises of the elaboration of an ecological perspective for our society. First of all I maintain that the clearly political quality which workerism attributed to the great wage struggles of the mass worker in the 1960s and 1970s is an issue which seems to be underestimated by Leonardi; secondly, I try to highlight the difficulties involved in considering the subjectivity of contemporary cognitive work as potentially capable to transform its knowledge into a factor of ecological conversion of production. In this sense I stress the need to accurately reflect on the various forms of neutralization the ideas of environment and nature undergo in the sectors of contemporary capitalism which intervene in the field of climate change, biotechnologies and green economy; furthermore I problematize the neo-workerist reading of Marx's theses on general intellect.
