This article takes into account the Cartesian comparison between idea and imago as found in the Meditationes de prima philosophia. This presentation intends to analyse the most relevant texts concerning the above mentioned comparison, in order to get it to its proper signification. Further on, this report will take into consideration the Objectors' interpretations (Hobbes and Gassendi's) focusing in particular on the peculiar features that idea takes in Descartes' thought.
