An extraction method for sampling grapevine mites, especially Eriophyoidea, is described. The protocol modifies previous extraction methods requiring commonly used household chemicals, which are used easily and safely. The plant material is washed in tap water with 2% sodium hypochlorite and 0.2% dish detergent. After thorough mixing, the suspension is filtered by means of stacked sieves for mite extraction and observed in an open, Petri dish with grid. Advantages, applications and a few tips for better utilization of the new method are discussed.

Abstract
An extraction method for sampling grapevine mites, especially Eriophyoidea, is described. The protocol modifies previous extraction methods requiring commonly used household chemicals, which are used easily and safely. The plant material is washed in tap water with 2% sodium hypochlorite and 0.2% dish detergent. After thorough mixing, the suspension is filtered by means of stacked sieves for mite extraction and observed in an open, Petri dish with grid. Advantages, applications and a few tips for better utilization of the new method are discussed.File in questo prodotto:
