Roman legal experience shows a close bond between marriage and dowry, considered by some sources indispensable for the contraction of the marriage bond. The bond between dowry and marriage was considered essential and, during the Principality, determined the passage of dowry protection from private to public. As is apparent from some fragments of jurists of the 2nd and 3rd century AD. On some of them, I think it is appropriate to have a review, aimed at highlighting some aspects of Roman law concerning the dowry.
