This paper intends to define the features of the phenomenological pedagogy about counseling developed by one of the greatest thinkers of the twentieth century, Edith Stein. This pedagogy is based on a reflexive model of counseling that is set up as Gemuetsbildung, a guidance process with a dual meaning, the one of giving a shape to someone and the one of giving oneself a shape, which invests the man in the deepest territory of his being, the soul (Gemuet), so that it can be educated to activate intentional processes more and more mature and responsible to face the choice processes along a path which involves his whole existence.
