Ordine pubblico e libertà di religione in una società multiculturale (Osservazioni a margine di una recente sentenza della Cassazione sul kirpan)

This article analyzes the judgment of the Supreme Court which ruled that the religious symbol such as the kirpan dagger in use by the Sikh can not constitute a “justified reason” to exclude the punishment of the use of the object as opposed to the public order. The judgment, furthermore, uses peculiar considerations to support its motivation, such as the recall of alleged “values of the Western world”.
