Through the analysis of the expression "dynamis of the rhetoric", found in the Platonic dialogues, it is possible to see the political aim of Gorgias teaching and its influence in many of his disciples. It is possible to imagine that in its origin rhetoric was strongly related to the capability of conquering power (in the polis), while later (with Aristotle, for example), this political aspect becomes secondary to the theoretical one. It is not possible to understand Platonic political thought without considering this political characterization of the art of persuasion.

Abstract
Through the analysis of the expression "dynamis of the rhetoric", found in the Platonic dialogues, it is possible to see the political aim of Gorgias teaching and its influence in many of his disciples. It is possible to imagine that in its origin rhetoric was strongly related to the capability of conquering power (in the polis), while later (with Aristotle, for example), this political aspect becomes secondary to the theoretical one. It is not possible to understand Platonic political thought without considering this political characterization of the art of persuasion.File in questo prodotto:
