Interrogative suggestibility represents an important source of vulnerability during investigative interview. The improvement of good practices for the evaluation of eyewitness testimony and suspects may significantly reduce risk factors. It has been clearly shown that the lack of scientific methods generally results in a collection of inaccurate eyewitness accounts and false confessions. The aim of the present work is to describe a tool for the measurement of interrogative suggestibility which has been recently validated in the Italian context, the Gudjonsson Suggestibility Scales (GSS). The GSSs are reliable and valid instruments for the evaluation of interrogative suggestibility and compliance, allowing researchers and clinicians to discriminate these constructs from other affective and personality characteristics.
