The essay focuses on the implementation of EU legal system in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (AFSJ), through the analysis of four regulations which aim to simplify, speed up and reduce the costs of litigation in cross-border cases concerning credit claims. In the present research similarities and differences among regulations have been examined in order to prove the evolution of the principle of mutual recognition in the civil matters. The goal of this contribution is to outline the effectiveness of EU legal system throughout the “European civil procedure” laws.
