In contemporary society, more and more complex, new judicial instruments are needed to resolve disputes in a more timely manner, to ensure the security of citizens, social cohesion, and economic competitiveness. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which facilitates the understanding and the exchange of data and information through an analytical approach to problem solving, was one of the main levers of change for judicial authorities: the systems allow better operational efficiency, greater transparency, the online exchange of data and documents between offices and stakeholders. The comparative analysis of experiences in different countries allows the understanding of innovation processes and their peculiarities in highly formalized systems as courts: ICT in justice provides possible solutions, improving its administration, helping to streamline procedures and reducing costs.
