Culture della terra nella contemporaneità tra ritorno a legami ombelicali, reti solidali e cittadinanza resistente

Il ritorno alla terra è uno dei temi di cui più si sente discutere negli ultimi anni a proposito del postmoderno e si configura in molteplici visioni del futuro. A essere coinvolti sono uomini e donne, saturi di uno stile di vita «inquinato» dalla città, mostro divorante di tempo e salute, di mezza età o più giovani, anche sotto i trent’anni, che decidono di intraprendere un’esistenza molto diversa da quella dei genitori, nella consapevolezza che sia finita l’illusione di un benessere costruito sull’accumulo di beni non necessari. In queste esperienze, anche la terra «ritorna». Ritorna a essere madre, in un immaginario che vuole riallacciare un legame ombelicale reciso violentemente dalla furia industriale degli ultimi due secoli, nelle pratiche di cura verso la terra che dona frutti, di rispetto verso gli altri viventi che di essi si nutrono insieme agli umani.

A return to the earth is one of the most discussed themes in recent years. It is a central topic in discussions about the postmodern era and it is described in many visions of the future. Men and women are involved. Middle-aged people, sometimes even younger, sometimes in their twenties who decide to embrace a lifestyle which is completely different than their parents' one. They are aware that past lifestyles based on fake wellbeing, on the accumulation of unnecessary goods, are over. These people decide to abandon a life saturated by the city, a monster devouring time and health. In these experiences, the earth also "returns". It returns to being a mother, in a collective imagination that aims at re-establishing an umbilical bond violently severed by the industrial fury of the last two centuries, with practices of care for the soil that gives fruits, with respect for other living beings who feed on them together with humans.
