This is an exploratory study based on teachers' styles and implication in teaching practice from a metacognition perspective. Three questionnaires have been administrated to 54 teachers of pre-primary, primary and high school and a descriptive analysis of variables has been realized. The study confirms the importance of a metacognitive teaching, exalting teachers' abilities to value individual differences in grasping cognitive tasks. The approach to teaching is therefore an important aspect of the school quality, , and should be a key content for professional development.
