This study raises firstly the issues of "global" and "local" in paremiology, as they relate to "indigenous proverbs" which contrast with "cosmopolitan proverbs" and "local or historical" proverbs, which are strictly related to a territory. Secondly, in the context of diatopic variations of French, we consider a sample of Quebec proverbs collected about thirty years ago, to establish their continuing vitality. Recourse to the internet and to large corpora to update the parémiological data furnishes essential tools. In the circulation of proverbs, one sees a network appearing that could imply the notion of "glocal", in accordance with the label given to the transformation of a local phenomenon into a global one.
