This paper aims to review a wrong tradition about the duration of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicea reported by Photius in the chapter 256 of his Bibliotheca, dedicated to the Life of Metrophanes and Alexander, bishops of Constantinople. On this item it is to be considered also the account of ecclesiastical historians and other chapters of Photius’ Bibliotheca.
