With his last work, Les Onze, Michon once again puts the reader in front of History as it was never shown by literature so far. The powers of writing create a non-existing painting, Les Onze, and a never-existed painter, Corentin, a biography of an artist, where a genealogy and filiation can be recognized, mingling history (the Comité de Salut Public de l'an II) and imagination. The outcome of this meeting is a total upheaval of the historical and literary levels. History thus appears as the face of poison, horror, and destruction; the supporters of the guillotine - as an educational tool of political control - are revealed for what they are: rhetoricians who sacrifice their lives to ideas. To fulfil this vision, Michon’s writing uses all known means and invents new ones. It happens that, from the poison of history rises the honey of writing.

Abstract
It happens that, from the poison of history rises the honey of writing.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
