This contribution proposes a critical reading of Ruxandra Cesereanu’s “Venice with violet veins”, a collection of poetry published in 2002. Book of "temptations and ambiguity", "Venice with violet veins" is an underground and nocturnal journey through the dark labyrinths of the lagoon city. It is a research that, studded with literary, cultural and religious references, exposes, dramatizes, exacerbates the gender encounter and the destiny of the meeting of desires (both male and female). In this spiritual and physical journey, Venice does not represent the symbolic city of San Marco, but an archetypal perfume, an inverted Atlantis, embodying a palimpsest of the soul, of the “anima” and “animus”, and the secret reason of an incessant poetic pilgrimage towards the knowledge of body and spirit.

Abstract
This contribution proposes a critical reading of Ruxandra Cesereanu’s “Venice with violet veins”, a collection of poetry published in 2002. Book of "temptations and ambiguity", "Venice with violet veins" is an underground and nocturnal journey through the dark labyrinths of the lagoon city. It is a research that, studded with literary, cultural and religious references, exposes, dramatizes, exacerbates the gender encounter and the destiny of the meeting of desires (both male and female). In this spiritual and physical journey, Venice does not represent the symbolic city of San Marco, but an archetypal perfume, an inverted Atlantis, embodying a palimpsest of the soul, of the “anima” and “animus”, and the secret reason of an incessant poetic pilgrimage towards the knowledge of body and spirit.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
