The article examines the problems of the current school and the subsequent democratic citizenship education initiatives to highlight the contradictions and difficulties related to the construction of educational proposals on iperindividualistic and radically relativist ethics. The proposal that emerges is related to an education in a rights / duties dialectic as the foundation of an education to the meaning of right involving the construction of a social grammar related to the assessment and application of principles rationally and culturally developed and, moreover, as a condition involving the respect of the related duties, which places the person in the condition of living concrete experiences related to both situations.
