Abstract
We analyse the behaviour of symmetric boundary value methods applied to Hamiltonian evolutionary problems. We derive a forward–backward error analysis which allows us to state that the obtained numerical solution may be essentially regarded as the exact solution of a perturbed Hamiltonian problem of the same type as the original one and vice versa. A numerical test emphasizes the theoretical results.File in questo prodotto:
