Benedetta Cappa Marinetti, a «total artist» for her personality, originality, cultural importance and refinement, can be considered a considerable exponent of the Futurist movement. A peculiarity of her production is her philosophic and cerebral writing, for the levels of abstraction that her reflection gains when analysing the depths of the I, for how she penetrates the obscurities of the unconsciousness, in her hallucinated journey in search for a definition of the self. Benedetta is looking for a total expressiveness, an «harmony of contrasts», she wants to link her personal experience, hot, subjective, chaotic, to the rhythms of the «great universal vibration», giving them an order and a justification in referring them to the balances of human forces. A difficult operation, almost a cerebralism, that is paradoxically corrupted by hallucinated penetrations in the unconscious that cause anxiety and anguish.

Abstract: | Benedetta Cappa Marinetti, a «total artist» for her personality, originality, cultural importance and refinement, can be considered a considerable exponent of the Futurist movement. |
