In recent times, several extensions of data mining methods and techniques have been explored aiming at dealing with advanced databases. Also many promising applications of inductive logic programming (ILP) to knowledge discovery in databases have emerged. In this paper, an ILP approach to the discovery of association rules in spatial databases is sketched. The work is in partial fulfillment of the research objectives set by the European project SPIN! on spatial data mining.

Abstract
