Thyrotoxicosis may be associated with a variety of liver disorders in cats. Thyroid carcinoma causing hyperthyroidism in cats is an infrequently seen disorder liable for approximately 2% of all cats with hyperthyroidism. The clinical signs do not readily enable detection of malignancy. This case emphasizes the importance of obtaining a diagnosis of thyroid tumors in hyperthy- roid cats before surgery and shows a severe liver damage associated with thyrotoxicosis.
