Nine 9-year cherry (cv Adriana), walnut and sorb trees have been tested for wood production. The study has estimated hypsometric and diametric growth (height and trunk diameter), failure percentage and root system stabilizing properties (morphology, root area ratio and uprooting strnghth). Mechanical tests have been carried out to establish wood hardness, compressive, flexural, traction strengths according to UNI standards.
