Sprachliche Höflichkeit im interkulturellen Kommunikationstraining

The aim of teaching and learning processes within intercultural training constitutes the acquisition of intercultural competence. With regard to the importance of linguistic politeness for effective interaction the present contribution emanates from the thesis, that fremdkulturelle Höflichkeitskompetenz, viz. foreign cultural competence regarding politeness, must be recognized as a partial skill of the intercultural competence and, accordingly, promoted in language teaching. Against this background, the contribution focuses on how the acquisition of foreign cultural competence regarding politeness can be taught in the German-as-foreign-language lesson. For this purpose a training concept will be described, which represents a basic grid for the work with case studies for linguistic politeness. Following this, a concrete case study regarding forms of address and exploiting these forms in the language learning classroom will be presented.
