Lope de Vega’s piscatory texts are analysed with a particular focus on his late literary production. The study of the Barquillas and, most of all, of the piscatory eclogue Felicio, brings out the gap between two different trends: on one side, the model set up by Sannazaro and his Italian imitators, a genuine effort to renew the bucolic tradition; on the other side, the elaboration of the piscatory code proposed by Lope in his work de senectute. The accumulation of several models, both Italian and Spanish (especially Garcilaso and Góngora), contributes to the disgregation of the code, and Felicio turns out to be an epigonic text both for the piscatory genre and for the eclogue in general.
