The precise analysis of the tradition history of the three funeral poems, ICUR II 4220, ICUR II 4221 and ICUR II 4222, points out their belonging to two different areas, Rome and Spoleto, and corrects the widespread hypothesis of the existence of a cycle of inscriptions attributed to members of the family-tree of the Anicii and the Probi, placed inside the family mausoleum which is added to St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican.
