Our report describes the unusual possibility of MG in immunocompetent individuals, and highlights the importance of performing microbiological tests for bacteria and fungi in the challenging cases of inflammatory lesions, resistant to antibiotics and steroids, in particular in elderly patients. Skin biopsies might be misleading in these cases because of the intense necrotic inflammatory process.
