The chapter deals with the general principles concerning cross-border insolvency as stemming from the 1997 UNCITRAL Model Law and the Regulation (EU) 2015/848. After depicting the common principles in matters of jurisdiction, applicable law and enforcement of judgments, the chapter focuses on the jurisdictional framework of the Regulation (EU) 2015/848 in order to mark the main novelties with respect to Regulation (EC) no. 1346/2000
