The present work shows a preliminary overview of the Big Data Analytics scenario, introducing the related privacy issues considered by the new General Data Protection Regulation, better known by its acronym GDPR. The work then introduces an innovative index to assess the compliance of a company with this regulation on the protection of personal data, in terms of privacy by design and privacy by default.
