Bunch thinning is a summer pruningtechnique to control the vegetative activity/yield ratioin order to improve qualitative traits of the production.Results obtained with bunch thinning are often varia-ble because depending on several factors (variety,pedo-climatic conditions, crop load, timing, etc.). Thetrial was carried out in the years 2014 and 2015 inPuglia on the cv Aglianico. Bunch thinning was perfor-med either at 20% or 80% of veraison with two levels,20 and 40% reduction of the crop load. Resultsshowed a significant reduction of yield/vine with ingeneral both higher berry weight and soluble solidscontent. Bunch thinning increased polyphenols con-tent and antioxidant activity both in grapes and wines
