Abstract

I. R. PHOTOMETRIC PROPERTIES MEASUREMENT METHODS FOR GREENHOUSE CLADDING PLASTIC MATERIALS A correct determination of plastic films radiometric parameters must be connected with the energy emission of the bodies involved in the greenhouse energy balance. The objective of this paper is the application of an innovative method for determining the transmittance values; particularly a weighted average method has been carried out to calculate the transmittance in the long wave I.R. band. Several plastic films for greenhouse covering have been tested and a comparison between the traditional and the innovative methods has been developed. Differences of 150% of the transmittance values have been observed.
